Jake's Story
by his mom, Jill
Last summer my furry companion passed away after 14 wonderful years. He was a great loss for me and I wasn't sure if I could love another dog as much as my first. I happened to come across the East Tennessee Border Collie (ETBCR) web site and decided to look at the dogs that following Saturday. I didn't have any intentions of taking one home, but Jake had something else in mind. At first I thought he already had a home and was just there to support the other adoptables. But once I found out he was up for adoption, I immediately fell in love. Jake decided that day that he was going home with me, too. |

After spending a little time with him, he wouldn't let the other dogs near me. A week later, Suzanne brought him to my house and we've been inseparable ever since. I know that if my other dog were still alive Him and Jake would be best friends. I've had Jake for almost a year now and I can't picture my life without him.

With a lot of love and patience (and a little training as well) Jake has become the best dog I could ever ask for. He is no longer submissive and, in fact, approaches everybody and every dog with a big grin on his face. He is very social and loves to play but also loves to cuddle. I never have to worry about him when we go to the park because he is always keeping me in his sight, which in turn, lets me keep an eye on him. I couldn't ask for a better companion.

Thank you Suzanne and ETBCR for giving Jake and all the other rescues a
second chance. And for bringing joy into human hearts as well.
With love and gratitude,
Jill and Jake
