Carolyn Stansberry
Memorial Fund
The world of Border Collie Rescue has lost a great champion and devoted volunteer in the passing of Carolyn Stansberry on Sunday, November 18th, 2007, after a long illness.
Carolyn was one of the founding members of East TN Border Collie Rescue, a cause she was passionate about. Her concern for the well being of our breed was profound, and for the past 14 years, she worked extremely hard to ensure that the dogs in her care were placed appropriately in loving, responsible and knowledgeable homes.
The dozens of dogs that passed through Carolyn's caring hands came in all shapes, sizes and ages, but her greatest love and deepest concern was for the special needs and senior dogs - the dogs that had become a burden to their family, either financially or through lack of commitment.
Nothing made Carolyn happier than seeing a senior border collie, with a new lease on life, moving on to a bright future.
In order to honor and continue Carolyn's work to help special needs and senior border collies, we have established the CAROLYN STANSBERRY MEMORIAL FUND, which will be used specifically to help treat and rehabilitate those dogs whose financial needs are over and above the expenses we normally expect to incur in the care of our rescue dogs.
The fund will be kept separately and specifically for these special dogs and will be used for medical and, when necessary, boarding expenses.
100% of donations received will go to the care of the dogs, and the fund will be administered through a separate bank account.
