Wanda
Back to Adoptables
Meet the beautiful classically marked female Border Collie, Wanda. Wanda is a special girl that is looking for the perfect forever home. She is a purebred Border Collie and probably around 2 years old.
Wanda will be a devoted dog that wants to shadow her owner around the house and just be with her human. She loves children and gets very happy and excited when children come and see her at the adoption events. The adopters of Wanda should not have any other pets as Wanda does not like to share her people with other dogs or cats. She doesn’t really care for them and lets them know it. She is mannerly around other dogs when on leash at the adoption events as long as she is properly introduced and not “rushed” or crowded by another dog.
Wanda will require a yard with a fenced yard. When she sees cars, she feels like it might be her duty to run after them. She plays in a fenced yard now and has shown no desire to escape it or jump it when she sees cars, but if the fence weren’t there, then the cars would have Wanda running after them. Wanda loves car rides but needs work with her manners in the car. It will take time and patience and ETBCR can offer advice on how to work with Wanda to make her a more mannerly car rider.
Wanda is the rare Border Collie that can live in an apartment or condominium as long as she gets plenty of walks (2 or more a day) for exercise and is kept to a routine.
Wanda is house trained and spayed. She is up to date on all of her vaccinations, heart worm negative and on monthly flea and tick and heartworm prevention. She is crate trained and prefers to be near her humans when there is a thunderstorm looming. Wanda is anxious to meet her new family. If it is you, then please complete an application to adopt her!

Please note that as a policy ETBCR does not place puppies in families with children under 6 years of age, as border collies and border collie mixes can be very reactive to the movements of small children.
Prior to or upon adoption, all dogs in our rescue program are spayed/neutered (there are NO exceptions), fully vaccinated, heartworm negative, started on heartworm prevention, treated with flea and tick preventive, microchipped, and temperament tested. We also strive to crate and house train each dog before placement.
