Scott
Back to Adoptables
Scott is a beautiful red and white, one-year old purebred or very close mix Border collie boy. A kind veterinarian found him wondering as a stray in his neighborhood, took him in, vetted him and asked us to take him into our rescue so that we could make sure he found just the right home. Now that he has been getting proper care and nutrition, he has put on some weight and his coat is soft and shiny again. Scott has been neutered, is up to date on his shots, and has been microchipped. He is on flea and heartworm prevention.
Scott is housetrained, and in fact has now graduated and no longer needs to spend the night in his crate. He is an active boy, with a strong herding instinct. He loves running, and playing tug of war with his toys or chasing a ball.. Scott is very smart, alert, and curious about what is going on around the house. He gets along well with his foster dog siblings, but strongly prefers a home with no cats.
Scott is a little shy with strangers, but once he gets to know you, he is very affectionate and enjoys curling up next to you to get his tummy scratched. Scott will need an energetic family that will include him in lots of activities and give him plenty of walks, runs, and play time. Scott is not a dog that will do well as a couch potato. With appropriate exercise and mental stimulation, he will be a wonderful member of the family, and will amaze you with his learning ability.

Please note that as a policy ETBCR does not place puppies in families with children under 6 years of age, as border collies and border collie mixes can be very reactive to the movements of small children.
Prior to or upon adoption, all dogs in our rescue program are spayed/neutered (there are NO exceptions), fully vaccinated, heartworm negative, started on heartworm prevention, treated with flea and tick preventive, microchipped, and temperament tested. We also strive to crate and house train each dog before placement.
