Scot
Back to Adoptables
Scot is an eight-year-old neutered male love bug that will be a devoted companion dog. He is heartworm negative, microchipped and fully vaccinated.
Having lived outside and alone all his life, he is a big convert to the crate and house life. An indoor dog now, Scot lives to be with his person and his toy or ball. He is currently getting obedience training and knows to go lay down nearby when it's time to rest. For a fluffy dog, he sheds very little.
Scot loves to hang out with his companion if there is yard or other outside work to be done. Cats can rub under his chin, and he behaves well with other dogs. He has not been observed with children, but his history relates his love to play ball with them. Like many border collies, Scot is afraid of thunderstorms and likes to be close to his person.
Scot has a little limp from an injury inflicted by a mean person, but he is healed and may outgrow the limp over time. He needs to have a formal obedience class to socialize more with other dogs and reinforce his new commands. A well-fenced yard is recommended, especially for ball games where he would be off lead.

Please note that as a policy ETBCR does not place puppies in families with children under 6 years of age, as border collies and border collie mixes can be very reactive to the movements of small children.
Prior to or upon adoption, all dogs in our rescue program are spayed/neutered (there are NO exceptions), fully vaccinated, heartworm negative, started on heartworm prevention, treated with flea and tick preventive, microchipped, and temperament tested. We also strive to crate and house train each dog before placement.
