Isabella
Back to Adoptables
Isabella is a beautiful 6 years old, going on 3, female close mix Border collie. She is tri-colored, mostly red and white, and stands slightly taller than average. She is a very smart, loving, friendly border collie that never meets a stranger. Isabella was rescued 5 years ago, but the current economic times required Isabella to trade her familiar fenced yard for an apartment and attend doggie day care while her owner works required extended hours. Isabella’s owner has asked that ETBCR help to find Isabella a situation where she can will have the attention and space that she was accustomed to having and deserves.
Isabella learns fast and she plays hard. She would benefit from a little refresher course in walking on a leash because she has always had the freedom of a yard where she could run. She still knows the commands when reminded though. Isabella is fully house trained, enjoys being inside, and is completely trustworthy on her own. She gets along well with other dogs, and would enjoy having another friend to play with. However, she would also do well as a single dog with an active and attentive family. She wants to be in the same room with her human, but if a nap is needed, she goes to her bed. She is trained not to get on furniture, and she does not jump up on people-only rubs and leans to give a welcome. Isabella is devoted to the person with the "treats", and some basic commands she will do in exchange is "sit", "shake", "lay down"...and the famous "catch the treat on the nose" trick. Isabella is spayed, current on shots, heartworm and flea preventative, and is microchipped.

Please note that as a policy ETBCR does not place puppies in families with children under 6 years of age, as border collies and border collie mixes can be very reactive to the movements of small children.
Prior to or upon adoption, all dogs in our rescue program are spayed/neutered (there are NO exceptions), fully vaccinated, heartworm negative, started on heartworm prevention, treated with flea and tick preventive, microchipped, and temperament tested. We also strive to crate and house train each dog before placement.
