Harmony
Back to Adoptables
Miss Harmony is a gentle and playful young girl, probably around 2 years old and about 50 pounds. She was saved from a kill shelter where her gorgeous silky rough coat was matted to the skin and infested with fleas to the extent she had to be completely shaved. After a day at the spa, including nails AND a new short hair-do, Miss H is proving herself to be a popular pack member in her foster home.
She gets along well with everyone, loves to meet new people, is a lower energy dog (compared to most border collies) without any type of herding instincts that we can see. She doesn't even see the point of endless ball retrieval, preferring to just hang with her people. She has met cats but seems more interested in their food bowl than the cats themselves. She is an excellent TV watcher, walks fairly well on leash, is learning to enjoy car rides (prefers the front seat), and is getting used to basic obedience commands. While she loves mealtimes, she is a slow eater and has yet to finish a meal without checking to see what the other dogs are having, often losing the remainder of her dinner to a faster eater.
She seems to be fairly well housetrained but has not yet learned to indicate she needs to go outside. She still needs to learn to take treats gently from a hand, but enjoys practicing this over and over. (Maybe this is a ruse???) She has a precious freckled muzzle, giving her a charming youthful look. She will be a gorgeous BC when her silky coat fills out, but for now is enjoying her sleek and cool summer 'do as she waits patiently for the right family to discover her charms. She is heartworm negative, recently spayed, and UTD on vaccs.

Please note that as a policy ETBCR does not place puppies in families with children under 6 years of age, as border collies and border collie mixes can be very reactive to the movements of small children.
Prior to or upon adoption, all dogs in our rescue program are spayed/neutered (there are NO exceptions), fully vaccinated, heartworm negative, started on heartworm prevention, treated with flea and tick preventive, microchipped, and temperament tested. We also strive to crate and house train each dog before placement.
