Ellie
Back to Adoptables
Ellie is a beautiful 2 year old female black and white Border collie. Her tail is relatively short at about 4 inches from having been docked when young. Ellie is slightly smaller than most border collies, measuring about 18 ½ inches at the shoulder. Ellie is exceptionally sweet, and longs to be with someone, even if it is just hanging out. She will give hugs by standing up and wrapping her arms around you and hold on. She loves her toys, especially the ones that squeak, and will happily enjoy them while lying at your feet. But, Ellie is no couch potato. When you are ready for playtime, she is ready to catch that tennis ball in mid-air. In fact, she even knows how to throw the ball up in the air by herself and catch it.
Ellie has a very strong herding instinct, and will want to chase things that move. This could make her a great sporting dog, but it also means she will need to have a safe environment where she cannot chase cars. Ellie loves to run, and will need a family that can give her a lot of exercise along with the love. She is very smart, and is learning basic commands. She gets along with well with her foster sibling dogs of all sizes as well as the cats.
Ellie is housetrained, and crate trained. Ellie has been spayed, microchipped, is up to date on her vaccinations, and is on flea and heartworm prevention. Ellie is a wonderful and happy dog that will make a great addition to a loving family that may be interested in agility or flyball sports.

Please note that as a policy ETBCR does not place puppies in families with children under 6 years of age, as border collies and border collie mixes can be very reactive to the movements of small children.
Prior to or upon adoption, all dogs in our rescue program are spayed/neutered (there are NO exceptions), fully vaccinated, heartworm negative, started on heartworm prevention, treated with flea and tick preventive, microchipped, and temperament tested. We also strive to crate and house train each dog before placement.
