Dobby
Back to Adoptables
Introducing Dobby the puppy. Dobby is about 3 months old and a typical purebred Border Collie puppy. He is highly engaging and intelligent. He is an excellent prospect for agility or Frisbee or other canine games. He already flies over the back of the couch and has exhibited his athletic ability.
Dobby is not a shy or reserved puppy and holds his own wrestling and playing with the 5 adult Border Collie and Border Collie mixes in his foster home. He is not aggressive, but is assertive and has a strong personality and an intelligent mind. He will be fun to train and is currently learning manners and to be outside when he has to "go". He learned how to use the dog door within seconds of arriving at his new foster home.
Dobby will be a great companion for his new family and family members. He will do well in a house with other dogs or without other dogs and requires a fenced yard in which to run and play. He is okay with cats too. Dobby currently lives with Ava, who is also adoptable. He and Ava would do well in the same home for potential adopters who would like two new family members. Otherwise, Dobby will do well in a home with another active dog, or in a home with plenty of physical and mental stimulation and a strong commitment to training Dobby to reach his full potential as a polite member of the canine society and/or a competitive canine prospect.
Dobby is up to date on vaccinations and as of this date (6.29.09) still needs to be neutered. He is crate trained and we are working on the house training. Dobby should be available for adoption shortly after the 4th of July.

Please note that as a policy ETBCR does not place puppies in families with children under 6 years of age, as border collies and border collie mixes can be very reactive to the movements of small children.
Prior to or upon adoption, all dogs in our rescue program are spayed/neutered (there are NO exceptions), fully vaccinated, heartworm negative, started on heartworm prevention, treated with flea and tick preventive, microchipped, and temperament tested. We also strive to crate and house train each dog before placement.
