Candy

Back to Adoptables

images/candy3_508.jpg

Candy is an Australian Cattle Dog/Border Collie mix. She is an athletic, high energy dog. She is about 7 months old and is heartworm negative. She has been spayed. She weighs about 35 pounds and has striking coloring.

Candy learns quickly, and due to her high energy, may do well in competitive dog sports such as agility. She learned to "table" (jump onto a table) on command her first try. She gets along well with the 8 dogs in her foster family and loves people.

Candy would blossom for an owner who knows how to train a dog or would take her to classes. Candy would not be for a family with small children because of her energy level. She is not afraid of stairs nor high places. She has been evaluated by an agility dog trainer who believes Candy has much potential. She is in Middle Tennessee.

Please note that as a policy ETBCR does not place puppies in families with children under 6 years of age, as border collies and border collie mixes can be very reactive to the movements of small children.

Prior to or upon adoption, all dogs in our rescue program are spayed/neutered (there are NO exceptions), fully vaccinated, heartworm negative, started on heartworm prevention, treated with flea and tick preventive, microchipped, and temperament tested. We also strive to crate and house train each dog before placement.
